Nothing says Independence Day like the smell of charcoal drifting through the backyards and over decks. This weekend, some Minnesota classics will be served:
- Juicy burgers & brats loaded with local cheese (hello, sweet pickle relish and mustard)
- Grilled sweet corn slathered in butter—picked up from a stand,
- Wild rice salad tossed with cranberries, pecans, and a bright citrus vinaigrette (our nod to heritage)
- Watermelon wedges and berry shortcake using those perfect MN strawberries and blueberries
- Apple pie still warm, with a scoop of vanilla—because some traditions are non-negotiable
Lots of folks will be heading to a lakeside cabin and these flavors remind us why we gather: freedom, good company, and full plates.
What’s your must-have Fourth food?
